Helping coral reefs recover from crisis events resulting from rising temperatures & excess carbon dioxide
CLIMATE CRISIS: WHY WE NEED TO ACT
With heatwaves bringing more irreversible damage every year, a beautiful and vital marine ecosystem is in danger. Extinction of coral reefs, driven by ocean acidification (from excess carbon dioxide) and coral bleaching (from rising temperatures), leaves marine species which are fed and protected by these ecosystems under threat. Also vulnerable to the knock on effects of coral death are human communities and economies.
HOW OUR CLIMATE TECHNOLOGY WORKS
Capturing carbon in the ocean, neutralising pH and propagating marine species vital to reef resilience
STEP 1: |
ANTACID
CARBON CAPTURE: Our Antacid’s active ingredients react with the excess carbon dioxide in the water, changing carbon to be useful for marine species. We’re also improving the oceans ability to manage the excess carbon it is receiving from human activity. |
REDUCING ACIDITY: This reaction also reduces ocean acidification to stop species being harmed. The optimum ocean alkalinity is pH 8.2, and today we are at scary pH 7.98, our Antacid brings oceans closer to the optimum, stopping species being harmed. |

STEP 2: |
TRANSPLANT
RESTORING CORALS: These improved conditions create an environment ready for restoration. That’s where the Transplant comes in. Our Transplant releases symbiotic micro-algae to the affected coral reefs which provide corals with 90% of their energy making them more resilient to rising temperatures. |
